Great Burrow Farm, our house, was built in the 16th Century most probably as a Devon long house. Made of cob and stone, with a thatched roof, it began as a single room shared by both people and cows. Although no longer a farm, it is still surrounded by fields, mostly stocked with sheep, some cows, and our house is still separated from its long barn by a cobbled covered passageway with views under the oaks to Dartmoor's wild northern Tors.  Situated in the heart of undulating West Devon countryside, it is surrounded by bridleways and footpaths.

Within the grounds of Great Burrow we have made three quite different special places to stay. Close to the Devon/Cornwall border, not far from Okehampton, within easy reach of the moors and the sea, we are perfectly located for peaceful getaways with plenty of activities on the doorstep.

Great Burrow Cottage is a detached former Linhay beautifully converted, ideal as a relaxing retreat for couples or a great base for an active family holiday. Laze in the garden in the wood-fired hot tub or day trip to our local beaches on the glorious North Cornwall coast around Bude. Sleeps 5, possibly 6.

Great Burrow Stables is our brand new venture! After years of keeping chickens in the old stables, we have finally converted this really special peaceful spot into a romantic, stunning space. We've kept the large covered deck and added a veranda with an outdoor roll top bath. ( the chickens have moved but still visit occasionally!) Sleeps 2, possibly 3.

Great Burrow Field has incredible views. For years, we just had a wooden chair at the top of the field that we would escape to for some peace and quiet. Now we have a really cute vintage Bailey caravan on the same spot  with a shower next to it in a converted vintage horsebox and a compost loo in a separate wooden Thunderbox. This magical place sleeps 2.
